Performance of AI Clone
Joanna Stern’s 24 hours using AI cloning was effective while also being ineffective. She used her clone for phone calls, video calls, creating posts for social media, and for voice verification. The AI voice really did sound like her to someone who doesn’t talk to her regularly. She able to use the voice for voice verification with her bank. The AI clone also looked just like her and to someone who didn’t know her body mannerisms it wouldn’t be as noticeable.
The parts of the 24 hours that were ineffective most the stemmed from the fact that only a human can be a human. Most people realized that the AI clone was talking or moving like Joanna does. Even TikTok realized that the clone wasn’t the actual human it was supposed to be preserved as.
I honestly don’t like the idea of AI cloning. In the world we live in I believe that AI cloning will be miss used. People will begin to try and hack things using AI clones and AI voice clones. Although at the moment there are ways to tell that something is cloned in the future it will most likely become more difficult.
My Thoughts:
The potential of AI cloning is large. In the future I am sure everyone will have an AI clone and will not have to speak directly to someone unless they choose to. Although there are many issues that I see coming with that. Personal interaction is good for us as human beings. Not only will AI be used I believe it will be used for more bad than good.
AI will have huge impacts on media and privacy. People will be able to post personal media that they didn’t create at the click of a button. If our voices and personal features are being copied, we will inevitably have little to no privacy.
To make AI cloning saver we must create ways to verify that this actually the person that has been cloned using the clone. There must be restriction on what a persons AI clone can be used for. People still need to interact with each other face to face, so that it not someone fake.
